I opened the door early in the morning last week to put mail in the box and this was the scene that greeted me:

Mr. Movie has joined a World War II re-enactment group. He loves costumes! And guns, and pretending.  

The Whole Shebang

Now that the wedding is a month past, I thought I'd share the whole quilt I made for Lt. Lehi and his lovely bride, who still needs a nickname.

This was a totally frugal quilt, made from what I already had in my stash. When I got to the solid blue border I discovered I didn't have enough so I made four corner blocks and put it all together. The quilting is machine done, by a wonderful local artist. The pattern is a fleur de lis in honor of our Eagle Scout.

Fresh, unwashed, cage free, homegrown eggs

Thank you to my friend Rebecca for raising chickens and selling her eggs. These are the best eggs I've ever had. And I now understand why recipes call for room temperature eggs. It makes a big difference in baked goods.

Trying to Capture What My Eyes See

My inexpensive, little digital camera is not adequate to capturing what even my half-blind eyes can see! The morning sun shining through the maple trees golden leaves is breathtaking in real life.

After taking these pictures I turned around and there was a gorgeous moon! My camera couldn't even pick up the image. Oh well, I take pictures with my mind and store them in my memory.
